June 2005-Present
Spare Space project
Multiple Locations
The Spare Space project was originally set up by a group of artists based in Carlisle with the purpose of
exhibiting work.
The participating artists look for free or cheep to rent locations in order to temporarily exhibit work. The exhibits normally last for just one night and serve as networking opportunities for the artists involved. Since June 2005 the original artists involved in this project have carried on the ideals of Spare Space. This project has now spread nationally and has started to have success in America and Australia.

Philip Bradley is a English artist at the beginning of his career. He has had exhibitions around England and collaborated with artists and designers around the globe.
Phil's artistic practice is the result of compiling everything he touches until something awesome emerges.
Narrative is often factored in and then lost during this process resulting in fragmented story's.
This fractured narrative try s to approximate in visual terms the difficulty Phil as a dyslectic self fracturing the English language.
UIYO
Uiyo is a recently created word coined by Philip Bradley in his 2005 artwork UIYO defining the interactions between male, female, sex and death in a repeating cycle.
UIYO is a word created using letters as symbols to create the words meaning where as the U represents the penal the I the female slit the Y the coming together of the male and female and O as a dead stop to the word with its circular shape also giving the word a repeating enjoin.
