I think haveing the opertunity of national newspaper space for what ether i want is too good to leave to just one project..
which is why im looking at newspaper tagging..
Its not a new idea..
In the 40;s / 50's ther was a film where a lady bought a billbord to put her name on it.. forfilling a dream. this bilbord was perchased with the promis of more billbords .. the dream got larger and larger and the lady became a celebraty.
I whish i could remember the name of the film.. ill try to sauce that information as i think i want to watch it again..
Gavin Turk did a similare thing with his work "Cave" 1995

What im really doing here rather than just putting my name in a few newspapers is exploreing what it means to do this..
For a long time i have been interested in graphety..
to tag something is to put youre name on it.. some artists do this as thoe there name was a place holder.. something saying this is mine and i intend to do work here later..
I intend to do work which will be reported in national newspapers later..
one of the strange things i have noticed is more and more the tag name .. ie Banksy, DaggerMouth, UIYO is the name people remember.. the real name of these artists becomes the secret name.
Im going against this a little.. I know with UIYO it seems UIYO is the offishal name of my projects. Philip Bradley being a name left behind.
It may be vanaty.. it may be that in the newspaper i am already planning on useing UIYO Labs but im fairly jazed about anouncing i am an artist to a lot of people.
Its upside doun :)
yes i know..
this is done in order to jar.. if it was upright it wouldnt have as much of an impact..
Im thinming about putting it in different coloures as well ...
cool?? i think so
The work is ment to say.. I exist..
I think it forfills one "role of the artist" Makeing me imortal..
I may not last forether.. but the influence i have/ the changes i make might do
