This is a quick sketch I did in class, when my help as learning support wasn’t needed. This image is of Sam, the technician.  I am using this image as a starting point for a future project I am considering, using portraits and then distorting or fragmenting the image to explore underlying emotions.I am thinking about developing images of coffee house and pub regulars to record the feelings and emotions evoked in these places of leisure.Coffee houses and pubs aren’t quite the same as galleries and designated high art areas, but are places where many people spend their time. By exhibiting work in coffee shops I hope to reach a broader spectrum of people.   I think coffee houses and bars open new potentials for art debate.
